Group Description
OSRS Fishing is a variety of good money makers at the upper levels and is very in the middle. Fish (and other marine creature) are always in high demand for use in cooking, and as a result, food for combat.
If not stated otherwise, any method assumes that you use the most effective equipment for fishing at your level. If you would rather just purchase the OSRS Gold rather than grinding for it , it’s an option!
CATCHING SHARKS
It is possible to begin catching sharks at level 76, however, you’ll need 90+ in order to achieve the highest rate of gp. A barb-tail harpoon is needed and, if choosing to capture sharks at Jatizso, partial progression through your Fremenick Isles quest is also needed. You can either catch sharks at the Jatizso docks (talk to Mord Gunnars near the docks located in the north-east region of Rellekka to get there) or at the fishing guild, located just north in East Ardougne. You could earn as much as 100k gp/hr and gain 12k xp per hour.
CATCHING ANGLERFISH
There is a chance to fish for anglerfish from the beach of the main docks in Piscarilius. It is required to have 100% Piscarilius favor to fish there and you must be 82+ to fish (although at least 90+ are recommended). Also, you will require an angling rod and sandworms to use as bait, which can be purchased from the Grand Exchange or Tynan’s Fishing Supplies which is located close to the docks. To get the highest rates of about 242k GPH/hr, you must have one of the Rada’s blessings (given as a reward for completion of every set of tasks from Kebos’ diary). Kourend in the Kourend diary and Kebos calendars). The rates for xp/hr are comparable to sharks with about 12k xp/hr.
CATCHING SACRED ELS
For this method , you’ll require 87+ fishing or 72+ cook (although the higher number is recommended in both). Completion of this Regicide quest is needed and you need to speak with High Priestess ZulHarcinqa in order to begin catching Eels. Things required include: fishing rod (pearl fishing rods recommended) as well as fishing bait and a knife. In order to earn 340k per hour you should use a knife to catch the eel in order to cut it up (giving the experience of cooking) and produce between 3 to 9 zulrah-sized scales that are later traded. The scales can be stackable, and this eliminates the bank process. At the fastest speeds 21k fishing xp/hr could be attainable.
CATCHING DARK CATCHING DARK
There are a few things you need to know for catching dark crabs; 85+ fishing lobster pot, a lobster, dark fishing bait, some gold to be aware of for the crabs that are dark (15’400 per hour will be employed), some defensive gear, a slash weapon to cut web on the way to the Edgeville lever, and various food items or other things to help heal yourself, such as Saradomin brews are also recommended. To get the highest catch and gp rates you should complete the wilderness elite diary. The dark crabs are found in the resource area of the wilderness, accessible via the Edgeville lever and teleport. This method is quite afk in concept, but since it takes place in the wilderness, you need to be conscious of Pkers. After you have a complete inventory of dark crabs go to Piles located in the area of resource, and take note of them at a cost of 50gp per item. This will net you around 356k gp/hr.
CATCHING MINNOWS
Beginning at level 82 you can catch minnows, making up to 500k gp/hr with rates of experience of up 39k xp/hour. It is the Anglers kit is mandatory to gain access to the minnows fishing area within the Fishing Guild. Just show Kylie Minnow that you own it in order for access. Also, you’ll need a small fishing net. Minnows are able to move around every fifteen seconds. This isn’t as effective as the previous methods, however because they’re stacked in one inventory space , you do not need to visit the bank until you’re finished. In order to monetise minnows, you’ll need to sell them at Kylie Minnow who will buy the minnows at a price of 40 minnows for one rare shark. The blessing of Rada can boost the rates of gp for this method.
Good Items
Angler Outfit
It is obtained through using the Fishing Trawler Minigame or through Ariel Fishing, the Angler outfit is the only Exp increasing set for that skill. Although the minigame can be accessible starting at 15 levels, the items themselves require level 34 to equip. Each piece gives the player a .2% – .7 percent increase in Exp, but there’s a bonus when the entire outfit is combined giving a total 2.5 percent increase in Exp while fishing. Although it’s debatable whether it is worth the time to get, if players wish to fish minnows for OSRS Gold at later levels it’s essential. Players can expect to spend around 6 hours on Fishing Trawler (at a drop rate of 1/8 per game) or 10 hours with Ariel fishing to acquire the full set.
Dragon Harpoon
The dragon harpoon is an option (unlocked at level 61 fishing) to the standard harpoon for catching Tuna, Swordfish and Sharks. It offers a 20 percent increase in catch rate to fishing caught using a harpoon. However, the harpoon is most often used by players who want to benefit from its special attack. The special attack, called Fishstabber can temporarily increase a player’s fishing level by 3.
Note: 60 attacks are necessary to complete the special attack, however it is not required for the increased catch rate.
Rada’s Blessing 4
The blessing is a result of completing the Elite Kourend and Kebos Diary The blessing is installed in the Ammo place and offers the players an 88% chance of catching two fish at once everywhere in Gielinor. However, this blessing does not give extra exp for any additional fish caught.
